4How it went

Source says replies cost about a cent each. It cites a BrightLocal survey: 19% of people expect a same-day reply, up from 6% the year before. No client results reported.

Only what the source reports. The source did not report numbers.

5Worth knowing

  • The Review Received trigger is contactless. You cannot text, tag or campaign the reviewer from it. Only internal notifications work.
  • Google notifies the reviewer when you reply, and the reply is public under the business name.
  • Never offer anything in exchange for changing or removing a review. Google treats that as fake content.
  • Test: read the draft out loud. If any company in town could have sent it, add more job detail.

6Recipe

Adapted from source Reworded or reconstructed from what the source shows.

Rating 4-5 reply style: "Thank the reviewer by first name. Mention one specific detail from their review. One or two sentences. No discount offers. Sign off as {{owner_first_name}}."
Rating 1-3: draft only, then notify {{owner}}: "Draft ready for a {{rating}}-star {{source}} review. Approve before it posts."
